Brunner Listened to Branson Debate; Sent Text Message to Steelman

St. Louis businessman John Brunner was the only announced candidate running for US Senate that elected not to attend The Conversation with the Candidates at Branson High School – but that doesn’t mean he didn’t listen online to what his two opponents had to say during the nearly two hour program.

HometownDailyNews.com has learned that Mr. Brunner sent a text message to Sarah Steelman about an hour into the debate, saying quote – Your (sp) doing a good job.

When asked for comment after last night’s event, a campaign spokesman for Mrs. Steelman said the text message meant two things; one, she’s doing a good job according to Brunner, and two, he was listening to the debate as a candidate and not participating. Steelman’s spokesman said something is wrong there.

=====(2nd Version)=====

He said he couldn’t attend the Conversation with the Candidates due to his schedule, but HometownDailyNews.com has confirmed that St. Louis businessman John Brunner listened to the event online.

About an hour into the debate, Brunner sent Sarah Steelman a text message that read, quote, Your (sp) doing a good job.

Brunner has said he would debate at some point during the campaign, but just not now.

He said last week he’s been busy traveling the state, meeting with voters.

I agree with Steelman's campaign - there is something wrong with a candidate that apparently is ducking the debates.
